Blissoma Rosy Glow Lip Elixer, immediately caught my attention when I was purchasing other things from the really awesome company Blissoma by Irie Star (See my other posts on Blissoma products here and here). Blissoma created the lip elixer because they “were sick of waxy stick balms,” Blissoma “thought up this fabulous idea – a liquid with all the nutritive, healing properties of a medicinal balm but with the light texture of a gloss.”

The Lip Elixer is described as an “infusion of Organic Comfrey, Organic Calendula, and Organic Coriander in a base of Organic Sunflower and Organic Coconut oils, Organic Soy Lecithin, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Hemp Seed Oil, Essential Oil blend, Alkanet root, CO2 extracts, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) and Rosemary Oleoresin Extract.” The variety that I got Rosy Glow  has “real Rose Otto essential oil, refreshing Mint, and Rosehip CO2 extract.”

A liquid gloss? Not a balm? Not a traditionally gloss gloss? A liquid? How would this work? As I pondered these and other things (the other things being the Bar Exam). I could not wait for my package to arrive. (Personal-note I love getting packages, because its just like Christmas).

When I got my package I was brimming with excitement. No really, new lip product formula! What you first notice when you put it on is that is actually a liquid, it makes your lips look wet, but not glossy like a traditional gloss. The dry down time is pretty quick and it imparts a nice healthy look to your lips. I don’t have serious aging lines on my lips yet but the ones I do have are instantly plumped and my lips look considerably healthier. You can’t really tell that I have anything on my lips but the before and after is pretty noticeable and I prefer the after, it looks like I am a healthy person, for example that I drink 8 ounces of water a day.  Although the Lip Elixer is made with Alkanet Root, it does not impart a color that I can detect, it really just leaves your lips looking super healthy. The feeling lasts a good while and the taste can only be described as natural with an underlying tingly-ness no doubt due to the mint extract.

If you don’t like the look of super shiny lips and waxy balms bother you, this super moisturizing Lip Elixer is a great choice.
