Face powder is one of those products I’ve always carried with me. In high school, I would always ask my BFF Zoe if my face was shiny. My face was always shiny, today less so than it was back then, but I still keep a powder compact on hand. The one kind of powder I never really used was setting powder because I thought it was pointless and a scheme. While you can use any type of powder to set your makeup, I just thought it was an extra step that I really didn’t need. I was wrong. Continue reading

Worth The Purge
I’ve been cleaning and purging my apartment, and it goes without saying that this includes beauty products. I have a whole legal box filled with goodies for friends when they come over to just go through. As my mom would say, “you have enough products for three lifetimes.” Anyway, while going through stuff, I came across this unsuspecting gem. Continue reading
A Good Foundation || Part Three
After two weeks of trying varying combinations of Laura Mericer Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer , Jouer Matte Moisture Tint, and various primers I reached for one of my faves, Vapour Organic Atmosphere Luminous Foundation. I love this foundation from Vapour, its great for travel (TSA be dammed, more room other products) and you can layer it throughout the day without having your face feeling restricted or mask-like, oh, and it’s non-toxic. Follow after the jump for how it held up.
A Good Foundation || Part One
So, I’ve profiled this foundation before. Jouer Matte Moisture Tint I generally love it. It’s super flattering, matte, and leaves a really lovely airbrushed finish that lasts for about 6-7 hours. It’s pretty perfect for events where you know you’re going to be photographed. In these situations, it’s pretty much a dream. The color match for me was super hard, so I mix nude + chamomile for the perfect color. Follow after the jump to find out why for work it’s not so hot.
It all starts with a good foundation
So last week I promised several posts on foundations, primers, and everything in between. It was a larger undertaking than I thought. Profiling five foundations + six primers. But this week, I’m ready.
TRUE STORY, IT ALL STARTS WITH A GOOD FOUNDATION
Hey, hey, hey. I hope you have been enjoying the awesome month that is October. This week, I’ll be focusing on everything that is foundations + primers and everything in between.
Blend Baby Blend
A few years back I was obsessed with these, obsessed people. These sponges are amazing, they assist with applying makeup in such a way that your makeup looks amazing every single time, seriously. But then I stopped, I got lazy, using a sponge was costing me precious seconds, so I just used my fingers. I know, be horrified.
Les Beiges
File this under totally unnecessary luxury product. I saw a preview of these powders several months back and immediately got myself on a wait-list. I loved the idea, a cross between a setting powder and a light bronzer, housed in a beautiful cream colored Chanel compact. Continue reading
Face It
I had been super loyal to Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer for YEARS, years! Until I decided to go more organic and then switched to Vapour Organic’s stick foundation which I then faithfully used for another year and half. But then that too got boring. So I switched it up again to several other foundations and BB creams and I still wasn’t loving anything that much, I mean I liked them especially the BB creams when summer hit hard, but I just wasn’t falling head over heals for how my face looked at all. Continue reading
