I was really in need of new shampoo after I dyed my hair that was safe to use daily but would not weigh my hair down. I have about three in rotation right now, but none seemed to be getting the job done, blame it on the switch in the weather, but my hair has been anything but awesome recently.
Enter Love & Toast Shampoo. Packaged in a cute square container with a pump and the most adorable label I was instantly in love. I love the scent of mint, and I feel like I get a lot of the gunk out of my hair with this stuff. It’s nothing particularly special but its a great standby basic daily shampoo, that agrees with my colored hair, and looks adorable in your shower. I like it the most because it’s a daily shampoo that’s formulated without parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, mineral oil, propylene glycol, retinol, sulfates, or synthetic color, which is hard to find.
Basically, we all need a daily shampoo thats no frills and gets the job done. This daily shampoo fits the bill, but honestly, that bottle design is perfection and I really love the pump dispenser.

Desert Essence Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is the haps. This stuff is amazing, I’ve been using it for years and I am always coming up with new ways to put it to use.
First, I keep a bottle in the shower and use this instead of moisturizer. It does not travel in your hand too much so you don’t end up with a slippery shower. This keeps winter dry skin at bay, and you save time by moisturizing in the shower.
Second, I put some of this on a cotton ball/pad and use it to remove eye makeup. Unlike so many other eye make up removers, this does not sting and takes off even waterproof mascara.
Third, I put this on the bottom portion of my hair, wrap it in a bun, sleep with it over night and wash it out in the morning and bam, awesome hair.
Fourth, I put this on my face as a spot treatment for dry patches. Yes, my face, oil on my face, everyone is doing it, no really they are, it seems like every company right now has their own magic oil. The molecular structure of jojoba oil is almost the same as your sebum, so it does not clog pores and does a great job of moisturizing in the dead of winter. You can even put this on as a mask, and wash it off, leaving your face super smooth.
Jojoba Oil, is so often used in fancy face oils, and its so basic, you can add other oils together with jojoba oil to make your own blend and save a ton of money. Jojoba oil though, on its own, is super rad, its basically liquid gold.

I could not wait for my product to arrive. When it did, let me tell you the results were amazing. My hair as I have mentioned before was just a wreck so I was looking for something anything really to get me out of a deep hair rut. This product changed my life really. I was using another shampoo and conditioner combo called Wonder Waves from Fructis but it was discontinued (and not so Green) and it was a great warm weather with humidity combo that kept my wavy, naturally limp hair basically awesome with just an air dry. Any product that allows me to do less and look awesome is something that I am always on the hunt for.
This product totally was a welcome and safe product replacement from my old discontinued standby. My hair is not frizzy, or limp even when I put conditioner up to my roots, something I have not been able to do. My hair is left shiny and bouncy and has brought back my hair. I do not know if there is a correlation but my hair is even thicker than it was too, a welcome added bonus.

Not gonna lie. I was really skeptical about this product. I mean honestly, have you seen it. It looks like oatmeal or tapioca pudding. It has salt and natural oils in it and it just looks like something you are not supposed to put in your hair.
Regardless, this product turned my hair into normal hair. The state of my hair prior to using this was, well simply a huge mess. I used a deep conditioner that I really should have known better to use. It was too oily for my fine hair and even after two blow-dries my hair looked looked like I had not showered for days. It was really bad.
I had a generous sample of this for about 6 months just taunting me in my cabinet. I finally decided to use it. I was really skeptical, so I used it on a night where I had to do nothing.
I used it. It was weird at first, definitely something to get used to, as it is texture was thick, clumpy and odd. But the results were astonishing. My hair had honestly not looked this good in months. It was amazing.
My hair has taking a beating with poor eating habits (sorry Mom!) and stress. This resulted in lack of shine, flyaway’s from hair breakage, hair loss, lack of volume basically a product marketers dream (I have tried everything trying to bring my hair back). After a rather sloppy blow dry, my hair was bouncy, full and shiny. Seriously bouncy, a word I have never used in a serious way to describe my hair, but for real, it was bouncy. The flyways were almost non-existent as was my frizz. I could not stop smelling and touching my hair. It just does something magic and the weird texture is something you have to just get over.
Overall the gist is you basically get awesome results with just one product. On the other hand, the awesome results might have been deep to my deep condition the day before (in case your wondering, it was with Wen).
Update: This product contains sodium lauryl sulfates, so I won’t be purchasing the full size product of this which is really sad because it truly is a super awesome product.
