I’ve was faithfully using the same foundation for over a year. Replacing it every two months and honestly that got super boring and it got warmer and I really needed to switch it up.
Recently, I’ve tried a few and I like them all but this one by Susan McNamara really caught my eye over at Sephora last week. Because it claims to “conceal imperfections instantly, helping to diminish the appearance of blemishes, pores, acne scars, and uneven skintone for a smooth, matte, flawless finish.” Its also formulated with “SMARTsal10, a breakthrough, technologically advanced blemish fighting complex that combines salicylic acid with anti-microbial peptide-10 to promote a faster reduction in the appearance of acne and blemishes now and in the future.” Sounds like a wonder product right???
So I’ve used it and the color medium is a match for me (I use Laura Mercier’s Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer in Nude and Vapour Organic in 120). The coverage is on par with a good tinted moisturizer it won’t conceal all spots but blurs them out enough that concealer is necessary only if your going out or something. Its pretty moisturizing and the oil control is great, especially in summer. As for evening skintone, refining pores and preventing future breakouts only time will tell and I’ll update you in a few weeks, but for right now, this is a GREAT summer foundation alternative. Bonus because it does so much, its great for travel eliminating all of those extra bottles of skincare magic we all think we need with us. It also comes in a regular non-acne version for all you folks with perfect skin.

* My only gripe is that the amount of product you get is super super small. The bottle while normal sized is only filled up half way with product, mine was sealed so I know for sure that it was not tampered with. You only get 1.3oz for almost $50. So unless this totally does transform my skin over time, money wise I just can’t justify it. Also it has no SPF which is a bummer, and they don’t make a smaller size for travel which would be great especially because I have so much travel coming up this summer.
