Sometimes there are beauty products that seem too precious to use right away. For whatever reason, face masks for me, are those products I keep tucked away. Sure I have my staple mask that I use on the regs, but for special masks and samples that come my way I simply horde them. Read More

File under lazy. I like skincare that is not a process. The Clarisonic, while awesome, was too much of a thing. If I’m going to use any electrical device near my face on the daily, it’s going to be my Sonicare. Read More

I love using body oil in place of body lotion. I think its easier and more effective at moisturizing, especially early in the morning. I’ve used so many over the years, usually really inexpensive ones from Whole Foods, like jojoba or sesame oils. But sometimes I like to use one thats a bit more luxurious and special. The folks at S.W. Basics of Brooklyn must be reading my blog because a) I love lemongrass and b) I love body oils. Read More

Hey, hey, hey. I hope you have been enjoying the awesome month that is October. This week, I’ll be focusing on everything that is foundations + primers and everything in between.
Well, last month I started a wonderful new job. But with this new job comes two 54 minute commutes (yes I timed it) that includes a 15 minute walk in midtown Manhattan, complete with exhaust + humanity. Also included is 8.5 hours spent in recirculated air under unforgiving florescent lighting. Its taken its toll. By noon I look fine, by 2pm I look as expected, but by 5:30 I look like I haven’t slept in a week or eaten anything but processed food, neither of which is the case. I’ve tested five foundations, six primers, two concealers and three setting powders in the last month. Stay tuned to find out which ones worked and which ones failed under these extreme urban conditions!

I got this in my Ipsy bag a few months ago. I ran out of my regular cleanser and I needed to wash my face so on a whim I used it.

Two years ago one of my BFFs Zoe, no stranger to this blog, was living and working in Italy. Obviously I made it a point to visit her that summer along with my friend Christine. We had an AMAZING time, by far one of my most favorite trips ever. Being the beauty junkie I am, I love visiting other people because I get to see what products they use and try them for myself. After showering one day I commented to Zoe that her apartment smelled amazing, Zoe told me it was her body wash, what? Seriously, it smelled like 1000 scented candles, it was divine.

I’ve used a similar version by Origins (which is no longer in production) a few years ago, I even went through two bottles of the stuff, but stopped using it for really no apparent reason. I wanted to start using it again this summer because I really needed something to brighten up my skin and get rid of old acne marks. But then I realized it was discontinued to I got this newer version. So what did I think of the newer version of this skin tone brightener? Read More
