Lazy Girl: Hydration Station

Cremo Face Moisturizer ReviewFacial moisturizer is so important because it hydrates (duh!) and makes you look younger almost instantly. I’ve be faithfully using this one by Malin + Goetz for the last six months and as I near the end of the bottle I’m searching for something a little bit less expensive so you know I can spend my money on other things like lip balm and cabs.

Getting my Sketch On

fit foot

I am started writing this post several months ago when I thought the following day I was headed to Fit Foot. I was not, nor would I make there for a few months. Fit Foot is a place I would lovingly describe as a sketchy massage place. Confession: I love these places. When I lived in Brooklyn, there was a sketchy place down the street from where I lived, on my block, thirty feet away. I frequented this place quite a bit. I love them because they are super affordable, clean and decidedly not sketchy. They are not your regular spa, there is no Enya, there are no scented candles it is a just a utilitarian place to get a massage. So when I moved to Chicago, I was wondering how I was going to get my sketchy massage on? Continue reading

Face Washing Equipment: The Low Down

clarisoniconeloveskinshammydewpuffreview

In 2007, I was introduced to the Clarisonic by my aesthetician, who at the time despite trying super hard and being one of the best in the city could not clear my skin, suggested I try this device. I used it pretty faithfully for about a year, with really no life changing results. Continue reading

Subscription Box Addiction: Part Two

IpsyMayReview

I love subscription boxes, this is no surprise as I’ve mentioned them a few times on the blog here and here. One of the boxes I get is by Ipsy its very makeup heavy and light on the skincare. You can customize what you get by answering a survey. Continue reading

Phthalate Free Perfume That Won’t Crush Your Budget

Caldrea Roller Ball Perfume Coconut Fig Leaf Review

I really really love Vamp a NY. It smells exactly how I want to smell not only when the temperature rises but also when its cold out too. But I just can’t justify spending $100 bucks on it, even if it’s formulated without dreaded phthalates. I just can’t. I really fucking can’t.  Continue reading

Self-Tanner Anxiety Attacks: How to Avoid Them and Glow

Chocolate Sun Cocoa Illume Lite For Face (Light) Review

Self-tanners are both exciting and terrifying– thats how I feel when I’ve ponied up the energy to use them. I’m pumped that I might glow and simultaneously terrified I’m going to be orange. Its a fine line that I seem to enjoy walking every time the temperature rises.  Continue reading

StriVectin-SD™ Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles

StriVectin-SD™ Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles ReviewIn the under eye department, normally there is not too much to talk about. I usually reach for eye creams for an added moisture boost–thats it. Normally, my eyes don’t need special attention. But honestly when I’m enjoying life (staying out late) or working hard (staying up late) it takes a toll on my eyes. I look very tired and people ask me if I’m ok or if I’ve been crying– you know those nice comments of concern that all convey that you look like shit. Basically, you can tell when I’ve been behaving badly or when I have been churning out work by looking at my eyes. Some eye creams over the years work wonders -for a short time- eventually, most fall flat in their claims, but sometimes, sometimes you come across others that actually work.  Continue reading

TOCCA Crema da Mano Luxe in Florence

TOCCA Crema da Mano Luxe Florence Review

Technically, I did not get this in my monthly subscription box I got this in a special limited edition Birchbox, but that is just a technicality. Oh, and the Birchbox this came in was 100% amazing and filled with the best things. But this hand cream completely stole my heart. Continue reading
