Taking the Day Off to UnPack

movingday

I just got back to Brooklyn, after a very long 15 hour drive from Chicago, so I am taking the day off to sleep in and unpack all of my beauty products. See you next week and have a most awesome weekend! xoxo

Getting my Sketch On

fit foot

I am started writing this post several months ago when I thought the following day I was headed to Fit Foot. I was not, nor would I make there for a few months. Fit Foot is a place I would lovingly describe as a sketchy massage place. Confession: I love these places. When I lived in Brooklyn, there was a sketchy place down the street from where I lived, on my block, thirty feet away. I frequented this place quite a bit. I love them because they are super affordable, clean and decidedly not sketchy. They are not your regular spa, there is no Enya, there are no scented candles it is a just a utilitarian place to get a massage. So when I moved to Chicago, I was wondering how I was going to get my sketchy massage on? Continue reading

Dose Market, Chicago IL

photo (24)

So, today there is no Sunday AM Round Up, I am getting over a mega cold/flu/allergy mess and could not bring myself to round anything up because I’ve been sleeping since Thursday. Seriously. Today though I finally felt less like death and good enough to go to Dose Market in Chicago, IL. This was my first major outing in three days.  Continue reading

More Of My Faves

favorite spots

Living in two cities can be hard sometimes especially with regard to keeping track of certain things. Not so difficult to keep track of are my favorite beauty spots in Brooklyn/NYC and Chicago IL. Easy to visit and spend way too much time in. Enjoy!  Continue reading

Resolution #2: Eat better

You are what you eat, and I’ve been noticing that I have been eating quite poorly lately and my hair etc., have been quite lackluster. In a wholly beauty related way (better health an incidental benefit). Continue reading

Outside of my Comfort Zone

RMS Magnetic

RMS Beauty Cream Eyeshadow in Magnetic $28.00

I have a tendency to wear a ton of neutrals on my eyes. I don’t really go for colors, the most color I’ll go for its copper or gold, but just on my upper lash line so theres that. So when I went in search of a new shadow to get me out of my rut, I immediately went for RMS. Continue reading

King Spa & Sauna, Chicago, $25

So, this was probably the most insane spa I have ever been to. My girlfriend had been before to this one and to the Spa Castle in NYC, so I thought I was mildly prepared because she talks about it frequently. Nevertheless I was decidedly not. Continue reading

Tanning my Heart Out

tantowel

Tan Towel Half Body Classic Fair/Medium Skin Tanning Towels $17.00

So, my post from yesterday was about self tanners, and the current hunt I am on to find the perfect one, since tanning beds are not an option (duh!) and a beach vacation is not in my future. Nevertheless,  I’ve been feeling somewhat super pale, not just winter pale, but pale just like the winter I didn’t go outside during my second year of law school and I developed a Vitamin D deficiency, that kind of pale.
