My skin has been all over the place this summer, from super dry to really shiny. I switched cleansers, amped up my moisturizing with face oils, but at some point when the temperatures kept reaching 90 degrees I had to go for something lighter and with oil control.
I’ve posted about Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment before, HERE and HERE, and my opinion stands that some of these colors and formulas are great and others not so much.
I’ve was faithfully using the same foundation for over a year. Replacing it every two months and honestly that got super boring and it got warmer and I really needed to switch it up. Continue reading
Ever since it started really feeling like summer my face has been super acting up. I mentioned yesterday about my bachelorette weekend celebration which was spent with a friend of mine who is a skin care expert. I told her my woes which are basically this: I wash my face with cleanser and it feels super tight, so I put on oil, serums, and moisturizers and then my face feels heavy and greasy and gross, so I wash it again and the cycle repeats. After this conversation she recommended switching up my cleanser in favor for something more soothing, gentle and non-stripping.
This week is becoming all about shit I just pick up at Sephora while waiting on line to checkout. Impulse items. Impulse life. Continue reading
So over the weekend I celebrated a good friends Bachelorette party. Aside from beach time, lots of drinks and food there was a lot of talk about beauty.
I’ve posted about face oils a few times here on the blog, you can check them out here, here and here. I thought for a long time that face oils were bullshit, just pure snake oil, a jar full of lies if you will. But I’ve been converted over the past several months as I get more and more samples of the stuff. I’m quick to fall in love with a face oil with the exception of Argan Oil, I’ve never liked that stuff really for either my hair or my skin. But recently I stumbled upon a face oil from Tarte and I am totally crushing on it, so much so that I recently had a party and as the conversation turned to skincare, as it often does at my house, the conversation was dominated by me going off about this amazing workhorse of an oil.
Tarte’s Pure Maracuja Oil has blown me away. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and my skin looks amazing and radiant. I have not broken out since I started using it either. Whats great about is that it really sinks into your skin, so it really moisturizes, often with oils I find that they don’t sink in as much as I want them too. I use it morning and night and never feel greasy and my face is never an oil slick even if I put makeup over it. Tarte claims that the oil can make your skin firmer, brighter and smoother– I thought this claim was bullshit, but seriously, it does. My skin has never looked this clear or radiant. And with the high concentration of vitamin C I am even finding that my acne marks and dark spots are fading.
This oil is perfection. It does what it says and does it well and has replaced a number of serums, moisturizers and targeted treatments. I am in L O V E.
Facial moisturizer is so important because it hydrates (duh!) and makes you look younger almost instantly. I’ve be faithfully using this one by Malin + Goetz for the last six months and as I near the end of the bottle I’m searching for something a little bit less expensive so you know I can spend my money on other things like lip balm and cabs.
In 2007, I was introduced to the Clarisonic by my aesthetician, who at the time despite trying super hard and being one of the best in the city could not clear my skin, suggested I try this device. I used it pretty faithfully for about a year, with really no life changing results. Continue reading
