WASH AWAY YOUR SINS: PART II

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser Review

Ever since it started really feeling like summer my face has been super acting up. I mentioned yesterday about my bachelorette weekend celebration which was spent with a friend of mine who is a skin care expert. I told her my woes which are basically this: I wash my face with cleanser and it feels super tight, so I put on oil, serums, and moisturizers and then my face feels heavy and greasy and gross, so I wash it again and the cycle repeats. After this conversation she recommended switching up my cleanser in favor for something more soothing, gentle and non-stripping.

Summer Proof Your Hair

Living Proof Satin Hair Serum Review

Since moving back to NYC, my hair has NOT been happy and what I mean by that is that the humidity, frequent rain and heat has lead to lots and lots of frizz and flat hair. I switched shampoos which normally wakes my hair up, but it did little to make my hair come to life. I thought I maybe needed a haircut (I did) but while that did make my hair look awesome, I was still combating frizz and flat lifeless hair. I knew I needed to bring out the big guns aka I needed to start using some kind of anti-frizz defender of good hair.

The Best Face Oil EVER

Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil Review

I’ve posted about face oils a few times here on the blog, you can check them out here, here and here. I thought for a long time that face oils were bullshit, just pure snake oil, a jar full of lies if you will. But I’ve been converted over the past several months as I get more and more samples of the stuff. I’m quick to fall in love with a face oil with the exception of Argan Oil, I’ve never liked that stuff really for either my hair or my skin. But recently I stumbled upon a face oil from Tarte and I am totally crushing on it, so much so that I recently had a party and as the conversation turned to skincare, as it often does at my house, the conversation was dominated by me going off about this amazing workhorse of an oil.

Tarte’s Pure Maracuja Oil has blown me away. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and my skin looks amazing and radiant. I have not broken out since I started using it either. Whats great about is that it really sinks into your skin, so it really moisturizes,  often with oils I find that they don’t sink in as much as I want them too. I use it morning and night and never feel greasy and my face is never an oil slick even if I put makeup over it. Tarte claims that the oil can make your skin firmer, brighter and smoother– I thought this claim was bullshit, but seriously, it does. My skin has never looked this clear or radiant. And with the high concentration of vitamin C I am even finding that my acne marks and dark spots are fading.

This oil is perfection. It does what it says and does it well and has replaced a number of serums, moisturizers and targeted treatments. I am in L O V E.

This month I am desperately trying not to purchase any new beauty products. For me this is harder than it sounds. Either way, here is my current list of MUST HAVES that will have to wait until July. Enjoy!

Stay Out Late and Fake it in the Morning

Benefit Fake Up Concealer Review

When I picked up Benefit Fake Up I had zero need for a concealer. I was and still am in L O V E with Touche Eclat by YSL, but still I am a beauty products junkie so seriously I just had to know what the fuss was all about for myself. Continue reading

Pacifica coconut crushed pearl bronzing body butter Review

I’ve been obsessed with finding Josie Maran’s Model Citizen Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter with Radiance, as a cure for my pale-ish legs in anticipation of summer and more importantly summer weddings. The problem though is that it’s sold OUT. Fail. Epic fail. There are other leg shimmer things out there, but the Josie Maran one really stole my heart. That was until I got a nice surprise in my Ipsy bag this month. Continue reading
