I got a sample of this a while ago, and after I received it, I still had no idea what it was supposed to do. I looked it up on Sephora.com, and it claimed the following: “This lightweight, quick-absorbing oil features a luxurious blend of six oils and two extracts that soften tame flyaways, and add shine immediately and over time. Hair looks and feels healthy, smooth, silky, and conditioned.” Continue reading
Since moving back to NYC, my hair has NOT been happy and what I mean by that is that the humidity, frequent rain and heat has lead to lots and lots of frizz and flat hair. I switched shampoos which normally wakes my hair up, but it did little to make my hair come to life. I thought I maybe needed a haircut (I did) but while that did make my hair look awesome, I was still combating frizz and flat lifeless hair. I knew I needed to bring out the big guns aka I needed to start using some kind of anti-frizz defender of good hair.
I love Acure Organics. Reasonably priced and the products are so goooooooood and they are formulated without any of the nasty stuff. This past winter I became pretty enamored with this body lotion, mainly because of the scent, lemongrass. It smells so amazing, super fresh and the scent really lingers on your body. So I tweeted the company not to long ago to see if they made any other products with the lovely lemongrass scent. Turns out they do.
When I first saw commercials for Garnier’s new ‘OIL POWERED’ hair dye I was very intrigued. Hair dye is something I have become very acquainted with over the last six years. Many women under 30 still enjoy the opportunity to dye their hair for fun, a little highlight in the summer, going dark for fall, etc… For me it is straight up maintenance. To dye or to look like I’m pushing 50, that’s the situation. Continue reading
Apparently, I’m really into anti-aging hair care products right now even though I am 100% not in this product group’s targeted market. I love these products because they make your hair look freakin’ awesome regardless if your hair is in the “aging” category of things. I’ve been using the same hair smoothing serum for my dried hair since 2003. No joke. I’ve gone through about 2-3 bottles of it and keep coming back. So when a sample of this arrived in my Birchbox I didn’t think much of it until I actually tried it on my dried hair. Continue reading
I love, LOVE Birchbox. Each month I get a lovely little package and am usually blown away. I love not knowing what little beauty surprises will be inside and also I love the little brown boxes, they have so many uses and they can be seen all over my house organizing all sorts of things. Each month I eagerly await its arrival and each month at least one product really stands out. But this past month, almost every product blew me away that I almost immediately purchased them in full size– something I’ve never really done before. This week I’ll be reviewing and sharing all of the products that blew me away in Aprils Box. Get ready, get set and lets go!
Every spring magazines seems to scream “Sea Salt Spray!”—claiming this time this bottle of sea salt will magically transform your hair into effortless “beachy waves” a/k/a “I don’t care hair,” or even “French girl hair.” And I fall for it every single time. I have four half empty bottles of the stuff sitting in various drawers in my apartment. I stopped my search when I haphazardly found Pantene Expert AgeDefy Advanced Thickening Treatment. I was not looking for the perfect undone hair when I picked this up, what I was looking for was a product to thicken my hair and give it a boost, but after some warmer temperatures toward the end of winter I found that when I air dry and spray this all over my head something totally unexpected happens. But first, sea salt sprays and why instead of good hair days they are simply full of it. Continue reading
